A snake native to eastern Asia, Indonesia, Vietnam, it is non-venomous aquatic reptile. It can stay underwater for up to 40 minutes! The snake feeds on fish and amphibians primarily. It has been known to make a great pet.
Snake leather is in high demand, and it can be very costly. Many snake leathers are protected under CITES and require extra license (python, for example) and other species are listed as endangered. The Karung snake, on the other hand, is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN. Aside from the red/brown listed below, all skins are about 4-5 feet long and 6-8 inches wide.
