The American Alligator is listed as a Least Concern by the IUCN, and it's leather is widely known and used for just about any project: jackets, coats, bags, boots, purses, whatever you can think of.  Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi have this species listed as their official state reptile.

This skin is black gloss only.  Each skin dimension is different.  Average sizes are: 2-3 oz (around .8 to 1.2 mm thick), 12" to 15" wide, and 5 feet to 5.5 feet long.
