Hemitrygon akajei | Red Stingray | Japan, China, Indonesia | No |
A type of stingray used by the Ainu tribe of ancient Japan, who used the tail spike as a weapon. The main image shows a large "long type" samegawa-- this is a larger sized one itself-- on TOP of the largest Red Stingray samegawa, to show the size comparison between our regular skins and this new type.
They generally do not have oyatsubu, but have spikes (similar to row stone) intermittent among the regular nodes. That makes these perfect for saya, bogu, basically anything that doesn't need the large oyatsbu.
